When you think of dinosaurs, you probably think of huge, intimidating creatures that roamed the Earth millions of years ago but that have been entirely wiped out. We know that there are animals that weren’t dinosaurs that outlived the true dinosaurs and continued to evolve, and you may have even heard that birds evolved from dinosaurs or are related to them, but that’s selling them short.
Birds are dinosaurs.
I didn’t believe it when I first heard it, but it’s true. Birds are living members of the group Dinosauria. They’re theropods, just like the velociraptor.
