The Stranger Beside Me: Book Review
The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule is a fascinating look into the Ted Bundy case from the perspective of somebody who knew him personally, was good friends with him, and was contracted to write a book on his crimes before she even knew that it was Ted who was committing them. His life is described in great detail, as are his victims. One thing that I really enjoyed about the book is that rather than painting the victims as mere objects representative of Bundy’s reign of terror, they are shown as real people with real stories. Enough about the crimes is presented to show the reader how horrendous they were and to condemn Bundy, but not every grisly, upsetting detail is included. The victims are shown as more than their last moments.

Fun Fact of the Day: The Platypus Used to be Considered a Cryptid
Like Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, and the Yeti, the platypus was once considered to be a cryptid. Understandably, people were baffled by the idea of such a creature existing. It looks like a combination of many different creatures, and it was simply too strange for many scientists to fathom. In fact, when evidence of […]

Whales used to walk land, just like us! In fact, they were small quadrupeds about the size of dogs. Evolution is a fascinating thing. These animals evolved out of the ocean… and then returned to it. Fun Fact of the Day: Octopuses are Mollusks
When you hear the word “mollusk,” you probably think of a variety of brainless, shelled creatures like clams, oysters, and scallops, or perhaps some slightly more complex creatures like snails. An octopus couldn’t seem more different than these much simpler animals, but they are mollusks too! In fact, all cephalopods, including squid and cuttlefish, are […]
